Call to Artists

The next call to artists in Toronto will begin in early January, 2007. This is an open call to emerging Toronto-based artists. Framework volunteers will also be doing outreach via: meeting artists in person, dropping off flyers at galleries and schools (e.g. OCAD, George Brown, York U, Sheridan, Humber, etc), parntering with the Toronto Arts Council and advertising in online magazine and listservs.

Artist submit their work online along with information regarding their careers, philosophy and specific artwork descriptions.

At the close of the call, we select the art through our day-long jury process, where we viewed each submission along with biographical information and artwork explanations. The jury votes on each artist's body of work based on the following considerations: how well to art would appeal to our Timeraiser participant demographic, distribution of media among selections and a personal opinion on the quality of the work.
